About Me

Hi, I’m Vicki, thank you for visiting my page.

When choosing a counsellor it’s so important to find a therapist that feels like a good fit. I see myself as a warm and empathic counsellor.

My own experience of counselling was so valuable, because I felt that all my emotions were valid and welcome. Within the therapeutic space I felt unconditional acceptance; this can feel healing and empowering.

I aim to offer this to my clients, along with providing a confidential, supportive space that allows my clients to freely explore their emotions, thoughts and experiences.

I also aspire to create an environment for my clients where they feel comfortable to be uniquely themselves.

Experience

During my early counselling training, I regularly volunteered for the charity ‘Northamptonshire Mind’. During this time, I facilitated various support groups, including an art and craft drop-in service and a support group for anyone struggling with anxiety and depression. I also volunteered at a support group for those bereaved by suicide.

I have gained experience as a counsellor at Rushden Mind, and as a school counsellor working with young people aged 11-16.

I have previously worked as a counsellor for Bedford Community Counselling.

I am now an experienced Trauma Informed therapist providing counselling services from my private practice in Bedfordshire.

I have helped clients to manage and cope with; anxiety, depression, relationship issues, low self-esteem, trauma, bereavement and childhood abuse. I have a special interest in childhood emotional neglect (CEN).

In addition, I have experience and an interest in working with clients who are dealing with a child with a medical diagnosis and the associated stress and emotional impact this has within a family.
